Do you think your blogging experience was a success?

In short, yes! Until now, I wasn’t interested in blogging and couldn’t really get my head around the blog “boom”; Ignorance was clearly the reason. After becoming somewhat more familiar with blogging, it has opened my eyes and tickled my interest. I now know, or at least have some understanding of, the concept.

Blogs, like so many other tools available in today’s wonderful world of Information Technology, can be used to share thoughts, opinions and reviews, as a personal website and there is even an avenue to earn some of that much needed cash we all seem to spend too easily. Most of all, blogging can be free and it has made me feel free. I can use my blog to vent, review, release and lighten the mental load. I guess the power and freedom of speech I now feel is the reason behind my feeling free.

Who thought the power to talk about anything at all, and share that “anything at all”, to anyone at all, would provide such satisfaction? I’m contributing to the content on the internet; Success??? Most definitely!!!

Do you think you will continue to blog?

How could I not? The positive feelings blogging has aroused within me, I will definitely continue blogging. I can’t say how frequently I will post; I guess that would depend on how often I had something to say. I wouldn’t ramble on about nothing, Facebook seems to be the place for that ;-)

I am interested in focussing my future posts on topics of interest, not just my interests but that of others. 2011 will probably see my posts revolving around uni. As you may or may not know, university life can often cause a great need to vent and release. I will focus on using my blog as a sounding board; a place where others can share their uni ups and downs with me, someone that understands.

As for blogging beyond 2011, my powers of predictability aren’t winning me Lotto, but watch this space…you never know what you may see or read!

What were the most difficult things to do with your blog?

I probably shouldn’t write this but, loading irked me at each post. I know WordPress is providing a free service but c’mon, what’s with the lag? Half loaded pages and session time-outs is not the way to impress, and it was the direct cause of me demolishing half a packet of Tim Tams in sheer frustration!! Needless to say, all that frustration seems to dissipate when my words up on the screen and published to the web for the world to see.

How easy was it to come up with new idea every day?

I find this a rather silly question…the topics were given each week; but I don’t think I’d struggle if I had to define my own. As I mentioned earlier, uni life can often cause a great need to vent; and vent I do. I would have to say uni would be the crux of my posts in one dimension or another.

After this experience, do you have a new perspective on blogging?

I really thought blogging was only for those that liked the sound of their own voice (words). I’ve now come to realise that we each have something, at least one thing, worthwhile of saying and sharing. Many of us like to learn and teach from personal experiences. The ability to teach, to provide insight to another person, without knowing or even having met them is quite mind-blowing. But blogging to me now is more about personality, an extension of one’s own personality if you will. What we say, how we say it, what we think, feel, share and communicate to others is all part of one’s personality. Expressing our personality with words via the internet seems to be something we are all becoming way too familiar with, thanks to the creation of social networking; but that’s a topic for another day.
